Max on Otto
Otto was designed in response to a simple observation: our homes
are becoming smaller while our lives within them continue to expand.
I wanted to create a lounge chair that provides comfort when it is
needed and space when it is not. One that feels generous to sit in,
yet occupies as little room as possible between uses.
The result is Otto. A chair designed to support both the body and
the space around it.
“The goal was not to make a different chair. The goal was to make
a chair that behaves differently.”
— Max Gunawan, Designer

Overheard
FORBES“Lumio certainly is an attention-grabber. People have to touch it, examine it, smile at it. It's that tactile craving that helped build the product into one of the standout retail stories.”
THE NEW YORK TIMES“Lumio introduced their second object that similarly trades in the thrill of the unexpected. Teno will ultimately be successful because people are able to touch and feel it and be surprised.why what Lumio does works so well.”
GQ“There's something poetic about opening up a book to find a little light and that's”
