Product Information

  • How do I charge Lumio?

    • Connect Lumio to a power source using the USB cable provided in the package. While Lumio is charging, the LED will turn red. When Lumio is fully charged the LED will turn green and you can use Lumio for up to 8 hours at a time before you need to charge it again.

  • How long will it take to charge the battery?

    • Initially, Lumio will charge in 8 hours. Afterwards, the next time you use a 2A adapter, the normal charging time is 8 hours. If you charge Lumio using a 3A adapter, the battery will be fully charged in 6 hours.

  • How do I use the built-in magnets?

    • Open Lumio and place it against a metal surface. Now you have light where you want it. The magnets are strong! While they won’t harm your home electronics, be careful with your credit cards. In some cases the Lumio magnets may impact magnetic media such as credit cards and mix tapes.

  • How do I dim the light when Lumio is in a fully open position?

    • The current design is not dimmable.

  • How do I keep Lumio looking good?

    • Wipe off any dirt or spills immediately with a paper towel or soft cloth. If the wood starts to feel dry, apply a light coating of furniture oil. The Tyvek pages of Lumio are water proof and tear proof, and can be cleaned with a damp cloth.

Shipping & Warranty

  • Do you ship outside of the USA?

    • Yes we do. You will see a shipping charge depending on the country you are ordering from before you finalize your order.

  • What is your warranty & returns policy?

    • Lumio comes with a six-month warranty from the date of purchase. The warranty does not
      cover physical damages, which means we can’t warranty Lumio if you drop it. To return a
      defective Lumio, contact us at info@hellolumio.com with your order number. We will send you
      a prepaid return label so you can send your Lumio back to us. If you would like a refund, please
      allow 5 to 8 business days for processing.

Return & Repair

  • I am having a problem with my Lumio.

    • If Lumio isn’t functioning properly, send an email to info@hellolumio.com, with a brief
      description of the problem. For better service, take a photo of the problem and attach it to your
      email. We’ll get on it immediately, and you’ll hear from us within 24 hours.

  • Are all damages covered?

    • The warranty does not cover physical, incidental, consequential, or indirect damages.

  • How do I return/exchange the unit?

    • Please contact us at info@hellolumio.com with your order number. We will send you a prepaid return label you can use to send your Lumio back to us.

  • How much does it cost for me to return my units?

    • We will repair or replace any defective parts, at our option, within a reasonable amount of time and free of charge any time during the warranty period. After service, we will be responsible for shipping the product back to you at our expense.

  • When can I expect my refund?

    • Please allow 5-8 business days for your refund. We will send you an email once the unit(s) have been received and your refund has been processed.

  • What if I received damaged or defective units?

    • If you have a damaged or defective unit, please contact us at info@hellolumio.com with your order number and a photo of the damage. We'll take care of you!

Care

  • How do I treat the wood cover?

    • -Dirt and fluids should be wiped off immediately. Use a paper tissue, dry cotton cloth or a damp cloth if necessary. Wipe in the direction of the wood's grain.
      - If the surface feels dry and rough to the touch, apply a light amount of furniture oil.
      - For deeper stains or minor scratches, it may be necessary to sand the area (gritty sponge or sandpaper, grain 150). Sand in the direction of the wood's grain. The wood needs to be completely dry before you sand. Afterwards, use a cloth with some furniture oil and apply evenly on the whole surface. Let the oil soak in for at least half a day before you wipe off any excess.

  • Are the Tyvek pages waterproof?

    • Yes! The Tyvek pages are tear proof and water proof.

  • How do I treat the Tyvek pages?

    • We recommend the use of damp cloth to remove dirt from the Tyvek pages.

General Questions

  • Will the built-in magnets harm my electronics?

    • The built-in magnets in the cover are designed to be strong so Lumio can stay in place when you attach it to a metal surface. It may impact certain magnetic media such as credit cards or other electronics if it's placed in close proximity.

  • Does the charger work in EU and Asia?

    • Yes, you can charge your Lumio on any USB port or power outlet. The power adapter is universal (100-240v input, 2-prongs). You might need a plug adapter depending on the type of power outlet.

  • Can I order accessories separately?

    • Of course you can! Full set of accessories come at $25, shoot us an email at info@hellolumio.com.

  • Can I charge my Lumio using computer USB port?

    • It is not recommended to charge Lumio using your computer USB port given its low power output. Charging time for this method could take up to 24 hours.

  • How long will it take to charge the battery?

  • What is the life span for the re-chargeable battery?

    • The current battery life span is approx. 5 years (it will still charge at that point but will gradually retain less and less power). Like a laptop, it will still be functional while plugged in.

  • Is the battery replaceable?

    • Sorry, the re-chargeable battery is not replaceable.
